Spa Salon Supplies FAQs

How can I choose the best spa?

Going to a spa can be a very memorable experience, but there are definitely differences between different spas. Therefore, it is worth putting some thought into the decision. First of all, make sure you attend a spa that runs on professional ethics and employs a qualified staff.

More basically, you will want a spa that you find comfortable, pleasant and relaxing. The best way to determine whether or not a spa does this is to visit; however, you can also get information beforehand by asking the opinions of others you know, or by browsing for information online.

You will also need to determine what you want to accomplish. Some spas will have very specialized offerings, while others while offer you everything from massages to facials to haircuts. Again, it is wise to find this out beforehand, so that you aren’t disappointed by the experience.

What is a day spa?

The main difference between a day spa and an overnight or destination spa is suggested in the title. The day spa is designed for people to visit during one single day, usually for a prolonged sitting, but in some cases just for a quick appointment. The overnight or destination spa requires a stay of at least one full night. Both types of spas offer the same general services (facials, massages, wraps and more) in most cases, obviously depending on each specific spa.

What is the difference between a spa and a salon?

These terms are often used as synonyms in casual conversation, but they actually refer to two different types of establishments. Generally, a spa tends to be more of an all-day experience, which might include a massage, a facial, a manicure, and more all in one day. A salon on the other hand might be geared more toward providing single services such as a haircut or just a manicure. Of course, the services each type of business offers may overlap, but that is the chief difference.
