Sample Schools Program
Seedlings Salon hosted an interactive program from 3:45-4:45 with children from the Doyle School every Thursday during the month of February in 2005. Six girls ages 5-7 signed up for the four-day program. We would like to thank them and their parents for their participation. Program topics were as follows:
Week 1: Aveda Personal Blends, Nail Art and a little Make-up Lesson
Seedlings Tour
Sensory journey for children, discussion of different aromas
Talk way through make-up demo on one volunteer
Finish with temporary tattoos and nail art
Week 2: Fun Hair Styles: Jamaican Braids, Temporary Color and Wraps
Kids play with mannequins with direction from stylists
Hair wraps or braids for children
Discussion of temporary color and wraps
Week 3: Skin that Glows: Essential Oils and Your Elemental Nature
Children pick favorite aromas from past session and blend their own products
Discuss skin as our largest organ, how it protects us and what it needs to stay nourished
Students receive sample of the product they made to take home
Week 4: Fun Day with Storytelling, Activities and Games centered around the Rainforest
