ANNODAM CLOSES OUT SEASON WITH "SOUL"
DOYLESTOWN, PA-June 22, 2004. Annodam Aveda Day Spa and Salon was selected by the Philadelphia Soul arena football team, a Jon Bon Jovi, Craig Spencer, and Ron Jaworski venture, to be the
Official Styling and Make-up Provider of the Soulmates dance team. "Annodam's enthusiasm and credentials were of the highest order," explained Tim Farrell, spokesman for The Soul. "They did a fantastic job."
Annodam owner Karen Lafferty led the team of stylists, which included winning stylist Kerri Kelly and associate stylist Kellie Dwyer. Estheticians Jenya Zemlyakova and Kaye Demario were in charge of make-up. A dazzling look was created-smoky blue and silver Aveda make-up and straight radiant hair styled to bounce and move with the routines. "We are absolutely thrilled to be working with a professional franchise like The Soul," said Ms. Lafferty.
For those unfamiliar with arena football, the game is played on a 50-yard field indoors with sideboards. The rules are slightly different, for instance, a pass that rebounds off of the end zone net is a live ball until it hits the ground; and, individual players are responsible for both offense as well as defense. It's a high scoring game with lots of action and the Soulmates' performances kept the adrenaline pumping at Wachovia Complex. Annodam Aveda Day Spa and Salon also created the looks for community appearances of the Soulmates.
Apart from the business interest, similar ideals and philosophies helped to bring Annodam and The Soul together. The Soul's community service focus was a perfect match for Annodam, which participates in yearly charity events such as "Hope Cuts" to raise money for HIV/AIDS research and fighting cancer. Annodam also was able to support the American Cancer Society by giving away season tickets to Soul games. The Soul is active in such areas as: Muscular dystrophy, the Police Athletic League and the Northern Home for Children.
Annodam is an Aveda concept salon and spa, which means only products made from organically grown plant and flower extracts are used, and that massage is incorporated into every service. Some Annodam specialties include: Stone journey massage, radiant facial, Annodam eye cocktails, and body essence wraps in which heat, oil, and light massage detoxify the client.
"Our spa has enjoyed great success due to our loyal clients, some of whom travel from as far as France, Hawaii, California and New York to see us," said co-owner Geri Rycharski. "This agreement is our first step in bringing the Annodam concept to Philadelphia.
