Karen Lafferty is a name that has become synonymous with great hair. With 22 years experience and a long list of pleased clients, Karen has made
Annodam Aveda Day Spa and Salon, Inc. her launching pad for new and exciting hair styles. "Her passion for the industry shows illustriously through her work," says Geri Rycharski, co-owner.
Before Annodam, Karen was the Director of Education for the Rizzieri Company which runs the Rizzieri Institute for Beauty & Wellness. She also worked for ten years as a Regional Educator for Creative Hairdressers covering the tri-state area. This gave her the opportunity to work with and educate for top stylists/brands: John Paul Dejoria and Robert Cromenas (Paul Mitchell), Tony and Guy (the Tigi Line), the Alteri Brothers (Matrix), Horst Rechelbacher who founded Aveda, Sebastian, KMS, Redken, and the Doves of Wella.
Her work has attracted top photographers Tom Carson, Paul Banks, and Gary Lyons, resulted in billboards, articles, and spreads in "Celebrity Style Magazine," "Passion Magazine," and others. Interestingly, Karen once did Barbara Bush's hair prior to an event gala as well as the Queen of Thailand's and her entourage. Through Intercoiffeur, she was invited as a guest to the House of Nations in Paris, France. Despite Karen's packed and somewhat exotic resume', what she loves most is her clients at Annodam.
Karen has that kind of wide open demeanor where people instantly trust her. She enjoys music, walking on the beach, hot weather destinations, and people-watching, which often gives her ideas for different looks. Between Jon Bon Jovi and Madonna (Annodam-can you make the connection?), Karen refused to pick a favorite, "they're both unbelievable." Karen's future goals: open two more spas and write a book. Teacher. Color specialist. Stylist. Platform artist. Business owner. Writer. That's her!
Geri Rycharski, Owner
If there is one defining characteristic of Geri, it is her vision. She has the ability to see five steps ahead when it comes to business planning, guest fulfillment, or new services that are not yet in demand, but will be. Turning to the spa industry was a natural for Geri, who has 20 years experience in marketing, hotel management, and customer relations. From this, Geri derived an approach to guest services that could only be described as wanting the absolute best experience and rate for everyone. It is her firm belief that "Everyone needs and deserves a vacation to rejuvenate and replenish, to build-up that storehouse of energy that we need each day." Through Annodam, Geri allows clients to take a series of mini-vacations -- whenever time allows -- getting them to where they need to be, physically or mentally. Her
flair for interior design creates the ambiance at Annodam that allows for this 'letting go.'

It upsets her to see lonely, touch-deprived, or isolated people who have given up. As a reflexologist, Geri understands the power of touch and wants everyone to experience and discover it. "We can heal each other, with the right intention, the right focus." Annodam's partnership with Aveda was a natural.
